paid $9 for a precooked hamburger that wasnt even warm, our waitress brought our food then got her a plate and went to eat and never came back to the table, i will not recommend the hard luck diner to anyone, i told the lady at the checkout and she wasnt concerned.

Great diner atmosphere and food! The waiters all take turns singing live while still managing to get out their orders in a timely manner. When We were there it was crazy busy and yet the service was excellent. Thank you Tami.

Mel's Hardluck Diner was excellent! The food was reasonably priced and tasted terrific! The service was excellent too! The servers are all talented entertainers and they are all very good at what they do! They make you feel like you are at a concert just for you and your family! They sing right to the kids and make them feel really special! You can tell that all of these people enjoy being around people! They make you feel welcome! My 4 year old said it was the best place to eat "in the world". My 12 year old loved it too! I had the mushroom and swiss and my husband had the Philly cheesesteak...they were both delicious! We ordered "Rock around the Chocolate" for dessert and all four of us shared...it was HUGE and fantastic! I can't wait to go again! Can't say enough good about this place!

This place is average. I have been there several times with people who wanted to go becasue of the singing waiters. That is a unique aspect of this place.

However, I think the menu is pretty limited and the prices are too high. Do not get me wrong, the food is good. They have agreat club sandwich, but not sure it is worth the price.

If you go, then go for the experience.

We never fail to go back to Hard Luck Diner when we go to Branson. We took a friend along with us this time, and he was so impressed he wanted to go back again, even though we were only there 3 days. Every one of the waiters and waitresses sing, and they are all good. The food is terrific, if you enjoy the old hamburger/malt shop style of dining. Their milkshakes are just sensational. I'm always sad when we finish lunch and have to leave, because it's like going to a dinner show every time we go! You will love this place!
